In The Soldier of Soul – Melvin Davis and the legacy of Detroit’s Rhythm and Blues Melvin, along with historians, music lovers and other RnB greats, will tell the tale of Detroit before Motown, when Detroit’s RnB was finding its sound in the streets and clubs of the city. The film will edify the audience to the musicians, the studios, the blues bars, and the deep passion for making music that lit an air in Detroit, creating some of the greatest music of the 20th century.
